I'm still continuing with the development of a SOE for our corporate Blackberries. Next up, the Facebook application. Sure, I know it's not necessarily "corporate" but I'd rather that IT does a standard install than the users try to do it themselves. Open your blackberry web browser up to http://www.blackberry.com/facebook Choose Download this program . Scroll through the massive legal disclaimer and choose I Accept then click Next. Choose Download and wait for the Bar Graph. You'll be dropped back in your web browser but should find the icon in the downloads folder.

Disclaimer: I started writing a Domino-related post today but after a good opening paragraph, it tipped into Microsoft territory and got too long. As a result, I decided to cover the Microsoft stuff here and keep the Domino post for later. The Importance of Social Bookmarking It's taken me quite a while to get my head around how the whole Web 2.0 and Social Networking thing hangs together but I think I've got it now and at some point, I might even blog about it and try to explain it in lay-terms. Today I downloaded and installed Google Chrome Beta from; http://www.google.com/chrome Installation The download was fast (it's a fairly small file) and installation is simple... Too simple in fact. It doesn't give you much choice about where you put things. There's also not much available in the way of configuration at the moment. What was nice is that it correctly recognised Mozilla Firefox 3 as my main browser and imported my bookmarks etc. One thing that may annoy is that it modifies the registry to run Google Update on Startup. When it starts, it gives you an option immediately, to change your search engine - or keep google, that's a nice touch. Google is obviously trying to appear as if they're not a monopoly. I've just added a bunch of social bookmarking links to my blogs. Since it took me a while to figure out how to do it, I thought I'd share my wisdom. Note that this method supports Blogger, Typepad, Wordpress and others. At this stage, I don't know if it supports Domino Blogsphere - Any Domino people want to provide an update? Choose Bookmarking Widget and select the type of Widget, where you want it and the blogging platform. 4. Click the button marked Get Your Free Button 5.
